A Look Ahead

Ding dong, the witch is dead.  2016 is behind us, and 2017 lies ahead.  New year, clean slate, inspiring quotes, et cetera.  But what does that hold for me?  Well, I can do this and sum up my own personal 2016 with the help of a furry aide.

This is Talos

Talos is one of my cats.  We adopted him in 2012, and aside from a brief spat where he decided to break a lot of glass vases, he’s been a good housepet.

butt

This was Talos after I asked for his opinion on 2016.

As you can see, he was not fond and tried to burrow underneath a blanket.  When prompted on 2017, he flailed a bit, scurried out of the blanket, meowed at me and bounded away.  I think that’s as close to a good sign as we can expect out of a cat.  I’m also preparing to bound ahead.  With the holidays behind me, I’ll be settling back in to the editing phase for Possessing Redemption.  I don’t have any set dates for a release, but with any luck, it will be ready for publication by the summer.  I’ve also got the novella All’s Faer more or less nailed down; it needs one final pass for grammatical errors and to have the last touch-ups done for the cover.  Hopefully, pending how recovery goes for my other half’s surgery at the end of the January, the novella will be ready to launch sometime in late February or early March.

Moving beyond that, I have a side project for the year that will revolve around a man coming to terms with the death of his father via letters the father write in a journal during a hospital stay.  I’ve also got a science fiction novel in the pre-planning phases to come after Possessing Redemption is completed and published.  There’s also the blog, which will probably come into a steady rotation of subjects eventually.

For now, 2017 looks to be an excellent, productive year for this particular author, and I hope you’ll follow along!
